The construction of the European spallation Source in Sweden

The European Spallation source is being built in Lund by a collaboration of some 40 European research institutes and universities. The construction is financed by 15 European members states with Sweden and Denmark funding close to 50% as host states. I will in this talk give an overview of the construction status and give examples of science done today with neutrons and other neutron research facilities in the world.
