Description
Strong-coupling stochastic thermodynamics (SCST) is formulated as Hamiltonian dynamics of an observed system interacting strongly with another unobserved system. Different versions of STSC are shown to be in one-to-one relation with different initial conditions of the unobserved system and its time reversal. The proposals of Seifert (2016) and Jarzynski (2017) are shown to be related to a conditional equilibrium for the unobserved system.
This is work in progress motivated by the critique of Talkner and Hänggi (2016) and the recent paper by Miller and Anders (2017).
