Description

WELCOME TO THE MOST IMPORTANT SOCIO-ACADEMIC EVENT OF THE YEAR!

The Nordita Day is an opportunity to get to know your fellow Norditians. It will be a one day event, Wednesday, 31 August 2022. This is the sixth Nordita Day, since the start of this ancient tradition in 2015, and after an unwelcome pandemic break.

You will be given the opportunity to join social activities in the morning (paddling), and to listen to inspiring science in the afternoon, before we will have barbecue/buffet, outside if the weather allows. For the evening, we are planning to organize some (social) games and to provide basic equipment for some sportive activities, like kubb, badminton, and frisbee.

Your family/partner is cordially invited to join for the dinner.

SCHEDULE

9.30-12.00 AT THE BEACH (Brunnsviken)
You can try out paddling a kayak or canadian, or you just have fun at the beach. We will rent the canoes at Brunnsvikens KanotKlubb; please indicate your preferences when registering.

13.30-17.00 SCIENTIFIC TALKS (Timetable)
We will listen to 3 inspiring physics talks, with plenty of time for discussions (and, yeah, coffee & cookies) between the presentations.
Lecture hall: House 2, Auditorium 4

17.30-late DINNER
Barbecue/buffet. There will also be opportunities to take part in various competitive physical and intellectual sports.
Location: on the terrace behind Restaurant Proviant (house 2)

PLEASE REGISTER

To help us plan the day, please register on the registration form as soon as possible. Registration deadline is Aug 14th.

When registering you will have to choose your preference for the morning-at-the-beach activity, and you will be asked to indicate how many persons will join you for the dinner event.

We will need some support with preparing the barbecue. Let us know if you want to help by checking the corresponding box. Thanks!
