Description
I will present a model of a quantum Hall system with interacting electrons confined to a linear, narrow channel. By using an explicit mapping the system can be mapped to a 1D system, which in the low-energy approximation has the form of a Luttinger liquid with different interactions between particles of equal and of opposite chiralities. The 2D density and edge correlation function is found by mapping the 1D Luttinger liquid correlation function back to the 2D Hall system. The effect of the interaction on the density profile and the asymptotic form of the correlation function will be discussed.
