Recent high resolution spectroscopic observations of stars in very close proximity of the Supermassive Black hole in the Milky way has lead to surprising discoveries of the origin of these stars. The abundance signatures of these stars ask questions that have yet to be answered, are they captured from accreted dwarf galaxies, or is there a chemical evolution path peculiar to the environment near the supermassive black hole. In this talk I will show recent studies of both old and young stars in the nucleus of our Galaxy and discuss the questions raised by these results.
