Description
Abstract: I will review the derivation of the Einstein equations proposed by Jacobson (2015) as an equilibrium condition over variations of the entanglement entropy of the metric and matter fields inside a causal diamond. This condition, crucial to the derivation, will take us to consider quantum error correcting codes as the possible underlying reason why it holds true, arguably implying that our classical spacetime emerges from an underlying highly redundant quantum state that is only partially accessible to any given observer. Time allowing, we will see that this might lead to cosmological signatures that would allow us to test spacetime emergence in the future.
