Description
I review the annual modulation signal observed and recently re-enforced by the DAMA/LIBRA collaboration. I discuss the status of explanations of this signal in terms of Dark Matter (DM) scattering. I show that DM spin-independent as well as spin-dependent scattering are in tension with constraints from various other experiments. I discuss the robustness of this result with respect to assumptions on the DM halo, and mention alternative particle physics proposals to explain the DAMA/LIBRA signal.
