Description
Kinetic theory of the neutron star crust is reviewed. The discussion includes the variety of transport properties and transport carriers (photons, electrons, ions, neutrons), their interactions in dense matter, the effects of correlations and magnetic fields. Special emphasis is made on electron transport determined mainly by plasma screening of electron interactions. Applications of transport theory for studying various processes in neutron stars are outlined, and unsolved kinetic problems are formulated.
