Description
Recently a new concrete realization of the AdS/CFT correspondence has attained much attention -- the ABJM theory describing the low energy world sheet theory of a stack of M2-branes. This theory shares many remarkable properties with N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory such as the appearance of integrable structures in the spectrum of operators. However, the ABJM model also introduces new features and complications not available in super-Yang-Mills, making it an interesting playground for studying general features of both the AdS/CFT correspondence and integrable models.
In my talk I will discuss the spin chain picture for local gauge invariant operators and the corresponding integrable Hamiltonians. The dispersion relation for the spin chain excitations turns out to be more complicated in ABJM than in super-Yang-Mills. I will present a Feynman graph calculation of the four-loop corrections to this relation, and discuss the implications of the result.
