Description
In this talk, I will give an introduction to analogue gravity. I will elaborate on how these set-ups can be used to study phenomena such as Hawking radiation in a laboratory. Then I will discuss a model that allows for intrinsic formation of analogue black holes. Along those lines, I will introduce and speculate about recent ideas to understand black holes as Bose-Einstein condensates of gravitons.
