Description
I will discuss recent developments in astrophysical gas dynamics simulations making use of moving numerical meshes. These developments allow for dramatically increased accuracy for a wide range of problems of current interest. I will present new moving mesh simulations resolving subtle fluid dynamical behavior in both jetted outflows and accretion disks relevant for gamma-ray bursts, binary black hole accretion and the closely related problem of gap formation in protoplanetary disks.
