Description
The peculiar solar composition, indicating dust cleansing of the proto-solar nebula, has been compared with the elemental composition of the old open cluster M67 and found to be very similar. This cluster -- which may also have solar age -- is located at a height above the Galactic Plane of 450 pc. How did it get there? And if the Sun originated in the cluster, which its composition seems to suggest -- how could it end in an orbit close to the Plane, without destruction of the outer Planetary System?
