Description
The Crab nebula and its associated pulsar have been the target of thousands of observations at all wavelengths over the years. Nevertheless, the system continues to provide new surprises and observational insights into its physical mechanisms. We shall discuss a number of new results we have obtained with Chandra, HST, Keck, and Westerbork. Results include highly detailed X-ray pulse-phase spectroscopy which poses challenges to our understanding of pulsar emission mechanisms, a new and look at the pulsar geometry, the results of a search for the site of the gamma-ray flares, a high time accuracy look at the radio polarization as a function of pulse phase and a brief glimpse of the spatial and temporal variation(s) of the southern jet.
