Computing Quantum Corrections to Extremal Black Hole Entropy

Description
We evaluate the short--time expansion of the heat kernel on AdS(2) times S(2) space with conical singularities. The heat kernel coefficients contain curious properties which we point out. We then apply these results to evaluate logarithmic corrections to extremal black hole entropy and find a perfect match with microscopic results for extremal black holes in N=4 and N=8 supergravity, and an intriguing result for N=2 black holes.
