Description
In gauge/gravity duality, points which are not causally
related on the boundary cannot be causality related through
the bulk; this is the statement of boundary causality. This
requirement constrains the behavior of perturbative quantum
corrections to the bulk geometry. I will present a
(background-dependent) bulk condition which is both
necessary and sufficient to guarantee boundary causality.
This constraint is less restrictive than the Averaged Null
Energy Condition in the bulk.
