Title: Hyper-Eddington accretion and ULXs. Speaker: Marek Abramowicz. Abstract: The ultra-luminous X-ray sources are still a puzzle. There are purely observational proofs that at least a few of them are accreting neutron stars, or stellar mass
black holes. However, one cannot say that all ULXs are connected with compact objects with mases
not in excess of 100 solar masses. The intermediate mass black holes may still be needed. There is
no convincing theoretical model explaining how an acceting system may collimate radiation to
highly hyper-Eddington luminosities. I will discuss mostly my most recent papers (with Lasota,
Narayan and Sądowski) devoted to these unsolved issues. They are based on up-to-date advanced
numerical GRRMHD simulations (GRR = General Relativistic and Radiative) by Sądowski.
