Relating classical solutions of gauge theory and gravity

In recent years, we have learned that there is a close connection between scattering amplitudes in gauge theory and gravity. In this talk, I will build on this connection to relate perturbative classical solutions of General Relativity to Yang-Mills theory. Since the perturbative approach to Yang-Mills theory is much simpler than to General Relativity, this new method may offer an efficient way of determining perturbative physical observables in gravity.
