AlbaNova Colloquium

Hybrid quantum systems based on collective excitations in solid

Description
Development of superconducting quantum circuit technology manifests our ability to control and measure quantum states of the collective excitation modes in a circuit. The approach can be extended to many other collective modes found in solid-state physics, allowing us to access single quanta of those excitations, especially by using superconducting qubits as a tool. We discuss the examples in quantum magnonics [1-3] and quantum acoustics [4-6].
