OKC colloquia

The status of the search for Dark Matter

by Prof. Malcolm Fairbairn (King's College London)

Europe/Stockholm
Description

In this colloquium we will discuss the progress in understanding dark matter, what we have learnt, what we haven’t learnt and what the future holds.  In particular I will be discussing the ongoing evolution of strategies which are evolving in parallel including the new generation of direct detection experiments and what they can tell us about dark matter and about other aspects of particle physics if they detect no dark matter.  I will then discuss what we can learn about dark matter on large and very small scales using different kinds of gravitational lensing.
