Quantum computing based on rare earth ion doped crystals is the only
quantum computing scheme supported within the EU Quantum Flagship except
for the obvious and mature superconducting qubit and trapped ion quantum
computing schemes.

This presentation will describe the rare earth ion doped crystal quantum
computing scheme and status. Relate to some new results in the field,
describe some recent work in Lund and discuss strong and weak points
with rare earth crystal quantum computing.
