The ESA L-class Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE) project to the icy moons of Jupiter will be described. A particular focus will be made on the challenges of the Radio and Plasma Wave Investigation (RPWI), its functionality, its development, the international effort and, of course, some of its expected science tasks. The background of the JUICE mission is partly the findings obtained in the Cassini/Huygens mission to the Saturn system.
