Description

Quadratic Gravity is a renormalizable UV completion for quantum gravity, which maintains the metric as its dynamical variable. However, because of the higher derivatives involved, it conflicts with the standard assumptions of QFT. I will overview the issues of this theory, and will particularly focus on the most problematic aspect. Some simpler models also can be used to illustrate the physics involved.
