Description

Perturbative scattering amplitudes can be extremely complicated functions of the kinematic variables for generic kinematics. In certain limits they may simplify enormously. In gauge theory, simplifying kinematics include the collinear limit and the multi-Regge kinematics where surprising connections with integrable systems were found in planar N=4 super-Yang-Mills. In this talk I will discuss new kinematical regimes where MHV amplitudes appear exactly solvable. These are the so-called origin limits where a large number of Mandelstam invariants vanish simultaneously and where amplitudes exhibit double-logarithmic in the large logarithms. I will explain how to explore these origin limits using perturbative techniques, focusing on amplitudes with up to 8 gluons, and present conjectures for their exact expressions at finite coupling, using insights from the dual string theory and the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations at strong coupling.
