Title: From Buckyballs to Wilson Lines via AdS

Abstract: I will discuss a family of probe D-brane solutions in AdS, each holographically dual to a spherical defect immersed in the field strength of a magnetic monopole. Such a system can be roughly thought of as a strongly coupled version of a fullerene molecule such as a buckyball. Using holography I will show that the IR description such a defect is a Wilson-'t Hooft line in N=4 SYM (provided the defect carries appropriate charges).
