Understanding the boundary between quantum and classical physics can be elusive. Leveraging genuine quantum phenomena is crucial for gaining advantages in quantum computation.

Seeing quantum phenomena as a quantum resource offers a new lens to study these phenomena. In the framework of quantum resource theories, quasi-probability distributions offer a valuable tool to differentiate between resourceful and free.

In this talk, I will share results connecting quasi-probability distributions in continuous variable systems and qudit systems utilizing Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill codes.

Surprisingly, a one-to-one connection between the discrete Wigner function and the continuous Wigner function emerges for encoded qudits in odd dimensions. Building on this insight, we generalize a classical simulator for discrete Wigner functions to all dimensions, investigating its properties and implications for quantum computation.
