Description

The axion, introduced through the Peccei-Quinn mechanism as a solution to the strong CP problem in quantum chromodynamics, is also a promising candidate for dark matter. Among the detection techniques, the cavity haloscope stands out as one of the most sensitive, using a resonant microwave cavity tuned to the axion mass. Recent theoretical advancements suggest that axions may exist in a higher mass range, particularly above 10 GHz. This talk will delve into experimental approaches for detecting high-mass axions, focusing on the innovations in cavity design.
