We introduce a dictionary between branes in Type IIB string theory and representations of the quantum toroidal algebra of type gl(1). The intertwiners between representations play the role of brane junctions while brane crossings correspond to R-matrices. We then use the dictionary to find the algebraic counterparts of brane constructions of 3d N=2 gauge theories and study their properties.
