Description

The 2025 Light Dark Matter eXperiment prototype test beam

Erik Jakob Wallin

LDMX has moved into End-station A at SLAC with miniature prototypes of each detector subsystem and received first beam with the newly commissioned Linac-to-End-Station A (LESA) electron beamline. A new TDAQ system (synchronized with the beamline's 37.6 MHz frequency), along with prototypes of the trigger scintillator system, Si strip tracker, Si-W electromagnetic imaging calorimeter (ECal) and steel-scintillator hadronic calorimeter (HCal) were all simultaneously tested. With the beamline operating in a low dark current mode, the trigger scintillator system made measurements of the beam structure and exercised different triggering strategies. Beam spot measurements could be performed with the silicon tracker and HCal, and progress was made towards multi-module readout of the granular ECal.
