The special theme is work-life balance in the academic world, and strategies and tools with respect to this theme will be shared, as well as exercises where the participants discuss and implement the tools.
We work in an analogue fashion and ask all participants to leave computers and cell phones in their bags. Prework, and an evaluation after the workshop, are included as well.

I will discuss recent work that draws on ideas from network science, quantum mechanics, and mathematical physics more generally. I will discuss networks with complex edge weights and explore, using tools such as quantum walks, how they differ from networks with real-valued weights. I will mention examples from network-science topics such as node centrality (i.e., importance), coupled-oscillator models and opinion dynamics, and clustering-induced localization. I hope to present some ideas that others at Nordita, SU, and their neighbors will enjoy exploring further with me.
