Daniela Calzetti: The JWST View of Star Formation and Feedback

Description
The high angular resolution and infrared sensitivity of JWST are enabling the detection and investigation of the early stages of star formation in extragalactic regions. I will review recent results obtained in nearby galaxies by the JWST-FEAST project in terms of tracking the most recent sites of star formation, measuring the properties of feedback, connecting these sites to the underlying molecular reservoirs, and linking the low-redshift results to the high-redshift findings that are starting to pour in.
About the speaker: Daniela Calzetti is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Massachusetts, USA. She has been investigating the properties of star formation and dust on the scales of galaxies in the local universe, using the information provided by a variety of both space-borne (Hubble, Spitzer, Herschel, JWST, etc.) and ground-based telescopes, at wavelengths that range from the ultraviolet to the radio. Since 2020, she is a member of the USA National Academy of Sciences.
