Description
The Jain construction of so-called hierarchical Hall states
and
the associated picture of composite fermion are
reconsidered
in the light of recent analyses that have found an exact
relation between Jain wavefunctions and conformal field
theory correlators.
We show that the underlying conformal theory is actually
given by the W-infinity minimal models introduced earlier
and
argue that the composite fermion excitations may obey
non-
Abelian fractional statistics.
