For the first time SNIC will arrange an all-hands meeting on December 3 and 4 at Såstaholm in Täby north of Stockholm. The meeting will be lunch-to-lunch, starting 12.00 on Thursday the 3:rd of December and continues until 13.00 on Friday the 4:th of December.

The meeting is open for everyone working in a SNIC sponsored project and participation is highly encouraged. SNIC covers the costs for the meeting like lodging, meals etc. but the individual centers cover the travel costs.

One buss will pick up participants in Uppsala, then go to Arlanda and pick up more people and continue to Såstaholm. This is the schedule for this bus:

10.20 Departure from Uppsala Konsert & Kongress, Storgatan. This should be on "the other side" of the building at Uppsala Central Station. The bus is marked SNIC Såstaholm"

11.10 Departure from Arlanda Terminal 4, Bus stop 8, outside closest to the parking. This departure is synchronized by Åke Sandgren, Umeå and may be somewhat delayed if the planes from Umeå are late.

The other bus goes from the City Terminal, Stockholm with scheduled departure 11.05 directly to Såstaholm. The gate for this bus will be displayed on the monitors in the terminal as "SNIC - Såstaholm". The bus may be delayed if the train from Linköping is late. The departure is synchronized by Andreas Johansson, NSC.

On Friday 4:th of December buses will depart from Såstaholm 13.10 for Arlanda - Uppsala and the City Terminal, Stockholm.

The purpose of the meeting is to:

  • Give information about SNIC and the SNIC activities and projects both from a technical and organizational perspective.
  • Discuss future strategy, goals and directions for SNIC. Discuss new lines of activity and new ways of collaboration for SNIC. Identify inefficiencies, as well as walls between groups and projects, and discuss how to eliminate these and establish a collaborative team environment and overall make SNIC more productive.
  • Build and reinforce SNIC culture.
  • Brainstorming and idea generation. The all-hands meeting is an opportunity for staff to present ideas. For example, SNIC staff that is ‘passionate’ about certain ways of collaboration or documentation may be given the opportunity to highlight these during all-hands. To facilitate discussion we have engaged Lena McEvenue and Sven Schelin from Gällöfsta Perlan Ledarskap who will lead the discussions.
