Analyzing the Large Scale 21-cm Power Spectrum from Reionization - Ivelin Georgiev (Department of Astronomy, Stockholm University)

Europe/Stockholm
Description

During the cosmic dark ages, the Universe primarily consisted of neutral hydrogen, which emits radiation via the 21-cm hyperfine transition.
The 21-cm power spectrum during the Epoch of Reionization is a valuable source of information on the nature of the first sources of light and their impact on the intergalactic medium.
In my work, I decompose the spectrum and quantify the role and evolution of its higher-order components. I discuss my findings on modelling the large-scale signal and its applicability as a probe of cosmology
