SNe Ia are a critical tool in constraining dark energy, as no other distance measure can probe the local universe as precisely. However, their power is dependent on the use of a suitable light curve model. Currently there are several models taking distinct approaches, but no consensus on how to compare and/or evaluate them, nor agreement on what remains to be done to constrain systematics in dust extinction, explosion physics, and calibration. In the era of LSST, we expect systematic effects to dominate uncertainties in cosmology given the vast sample sizes expected. At this workshop, we plan to bring together subject matter experts working on SN Ia modeling for focused development on these key points of interest.
