Gravitational wave archaeology from an early period of matter domination: theory and applications

Graham White (Southampton U.) will give an interesting talk, organized by Joshua Eby!

Abstract: There are many ways in which the early Universe could depart from the standard picture of radiation domination persisting all the way from (p)reheating until recombination. If there was an early period of matter domination that suddenly transitions into radiation, there can be enhancements to the scalar power spectrum which source tensor perturbations at second order. I will discuss how the signal looks as a function of how quick the transition between radiation and matter occurs before discussing some applications.

Speakers: Graham White (Southampton U.), Joshua Eby (Stockholm University), Joshua Eby (Stockholm University)
