Submitting Proceedings (New!)

The proceedings will be published with AIP both online (with open access) and in printed copies.

Instructions for Creating Your Proceedings

Please go to the AIP web page for authors:

http://scitation.aip.org/content/aip/proceeding/aipcp/info/authors

and download the zip file of the standard template (8.5 x 11 inch), in either LaTeX or Word format as you prefer.

Inside the zip file, you will find the article templates, as well as the copyright transfer agreement (explained below).

You must use the article template for single_column format.

When you are finished, create a pdf for submission.  The final proceedings will be printed directly from the author-prepared pdfs, so it is important that the text and graphics are of the highest quality when they are submitted.

Parallel contributions: 4 pages maximum
Plenary contributions: 6 pages maximum

See the end of this page for more tips on writing your proceedings with the AIP template.

Copyright Agreement

You will also need to supply the Transfer of Copyright Agreement,  found in the top level of the zip file downloaded above, called "copyright_transfer.pdf".

Please fill it in (leave "manuscript number" empty), sign it, and upload a scanned copy (e.g. in pdf or other electronic image format) when you upload your proceedings.

Uploading Instructions

Attach your proceedings pdf and your scanned copyright agreement in an email, and send the email to vlvnt2013@gmail.com

Your proceedings will be reviewed by the VLVnT editors, who may request changes from you in order to meet the requirements of the publisher.

The deadline for submitting the proceedings is January 12, 2014.
The final deadline for submitting the proceedings is January 31, 2014.

Tips for using the Latex template

The Latex template file to use is:  template-8s.tex

At the beginning of the file, uncomment the "numberedheadings" line in the documentclass.  For the final sumbission, also make sure that the line "final" is uncommented.  I.e., the options used in the end should be:

documentclass[final,numberedheadings]{aipproc}

Do not add page numbers, alter the margins, etc., which will interfere with publication of the proceedings.

Format of plots
The sample file "template-8s.tex" is prepared for "standard" latex with (encapsulated) postscript files as input for figures.  If you use pdflatex instead, then note that the sample image "golfer.ps" will not work.

Color plots
The proceedings will be displayed in color online, but the printed versions will be in greyscale.  Please make sure that your figures are readable in greyscale.

PACS numbers and keywords
These are allowed in the template and you are free to include them, but they are not required.
