Description
Abstract: A mechanism by which a probe D brane that is
embedded in AdS geometry, carries electric charge and is
subject to a magnetic field can have incompressible integer
quantum Hall states will be discussed. In all cases, these
states are associated with dynamical symmetry breaking,
similar to ``quantum Hall ferromagnetism'' which is observed
in the integer quantum Hall regime in graphene and can be
viewed as the realization of that phenomenon in a strongly
coupled gauge field theory.
