Description
After a brief review of the main structural
properties of the bi-metric implementation of
Background Independence, some recent results
obtained by means of bi-metric truncations of the
effective average action will be discussed. The
focus of the talk is on the possible existence of
a "C-theorem" in 4 dimensional QEG, some of the
pressing positivity issues in QEG, and, more
technically, on new reliability tests for
truncations which can be applied to any theory.
