Numerical radiative transfer using a multigrid method

Description

We implemented a non-linear multigrid scheme in our radiative transfer code MULTI3D to improve the convergence speed when the discretization is refined. This property are highly desirable for solving the radiative transfer problem for high-resolution atmosphere models produced by MHD codes. We achieve this by solving the radiative transfer problem on multiple grids with different mesh by fast-approximation scheme (FAS) multigrid. We present timing tests and example calculations based on atmosphere models computed with the Bifrost code.
