Description
The present state of the art axion haloscope employs a
cylindrical resonant cavity in a solenoidal field. The
Center for Axion and Precision Physics research (CAPP) of
the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in Korea, is pursuing
halo axion discovery using this cylindrical geometry.
Besides the cylindrical geometry, we are also taking an
alternative approach of searching for halo axion with
toroidal geometry which offers several advantages. A concept
of toroidal axion haloscopes and present ongoing research
activities and plans are to be presented.
