Description
The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee
Florida designs, builds, and operates the world's most
powerful magnets; up to 45 T dc and 100 T for ~10 ms pulses.
While most magnets are used for condensed-matter physics and
have small bores (3 - 5 cm), large bore magnets have been
demonstrated such as 11.4 T in a 60 cm bore or 13 T in a 50
cm bore.
