Description
Random networks may be used to describe the social structure
in a community. "On" such a network one can model the spread
of an infection. Questions of interest to study are for
example: Can a big outbreak occur?, How large will it be?,
What is the effect of introducing a given vaccination
scheme? In the talk we will survey this area, with focus on
effects of the underlying random network on the questions
formulated above.
