Description
Magnetic fields play an important role in the early evolution of young stars during
the pre-main sequence phase.
We present an investigation into the magnetic fields built by 3D convective dynamo
action in such stars using the ASH code. We have extended our initial attempts to
reproduce the magnetic field observed for BP Tau using spectropolarimetry (Bessolaz &
Brun 2011) by computing a set of different models varying key non dimensional
parameters in order to probe their influence on the large scale magnetic properties.
We particularly emphasize how such magnetic fields impact the differential rotation,
by comparing with hydrodynamic progenitors. We also examine the effect of
stratification on the differential rotation and the large scale magnetic field.
