Description
I present some recent simulations of time-dependent
phenomena in bosons in optical lattices. For a system with a
Mott-superfluid interface, an instability reminiscent of the
Kelvin-Helmholtz instability is seen to occur. In a trap,
this instability is seen to be responsible for phase slip.
