Scope

The workshop provide an up-to-date overview of the latest research in these areas and allow to engage leading experts in the field into the Nordic community.

While numerous previous events focused exclusively on many-body localization, the uniqueness of the proposed workshop is that the main focus is shifted to random-matrix description of ergodicity-breaking phenomena, and especially multifractal phases of matter, and to an effort to find connections between a universal random-matrix description, on one hand, and the model computer simulations and real experiments in many-body systems, on the other. We have identified a rather large recent body of literature developed in the last couple of years, which will form the basis for discussions during this conference, while the more focused character of the workshop will allow for deeper discussions and collaborations between the experts in the field and younger researchers.

Themes and preliminary program schedule

The workshop will have an emphasis on, but not limited to, the following directions:

  • Non-ergodic phases of matter
  • Correlations in disordered long-range systems
  • Non-Hermitian disordered models
  • Many-body localization
  • Free probability and nonstabilizerness frameworks
  • Role of Krylov basis in quantum thermalization
  • Non-ergodic dynamics in quantum systems
