The zoom- meetings  will be decided from time to time. 

Literature: 
The course is based on:
Atomic Many-Body Theory, Ingvar Lindgren and John Morrison.
This book is available at Stockholm University as an E-book. Atomic Many-Body Theory, Ingvar Lindgren and John Morrison. There is also a scanned-in copy (PDF)  available if if somebody needs it - tell me in that case.

Other books to consult: 1) Atomic Structure Theory, Walter Johnsson
Available at Stockholm University as a E-book. Atomic Structure Theory, Walter Johnsson .
2) Computational Atomic Structure: An MCHF Approach, Charlotte Froese-Fisher . Papers copy should be available in Lund.
3) Case Studies in Atomic Physics with details about the Dirac equation can also be useful.

The course is divided into two parts:

Part I, 
Chapter 1-4 in Lindgren and Morrison
Tensor operators and Angular Momentum Graphs
Chapter 2 Definitions of Spherical Tensor Operators, Angular Momentum coupling, Wigner Eckarts Theorem
Problem 2.1 -2.3, 2.6-2.8, 2.12-2.19
Chapters 3 and 4 Angular Momentum Graphs All problems


More information on this part can be found in: Edmonds A. R. Angular Momentum in Quantum Mechanics, Princeton 1960. We have a copy of this book in Stockholm. Surely it will be available in Lund too. 

Part II 
Chapter 5-8, Independent Particle Model
Chapter 9-14, Perturbation Theory
Chapter 15 Coupled- Cluster Theory
Problem 6.2-6.3 (but feel free to use any 3j caclculator instead of the tables in the book)
Problem 10.1-10.2
Problem 11.1- 11.5

Requirements: make the exercises (many in the first four chapters, then much less) . Look deeper into one subject and present it to the others. The subject can be chosen from Chapter 5 and onwards, and may focus on something not covered by the book. The presentation should take around 20 minutes.
